Fagunia Farmstay Tariff

Villa

Fagunia Farmstay is a single, standalone villa, built across 3 levels. It has 2 spacious suites and 2 smaller rooms spread across the three levels. Each room has an independent entrance to the outside. No rooms are inter-connected. Each room has one en suite toilet. There is a large garden on the front side, a common kitchen and a semi-al fresco dining area on the back side of the house.

Guests can either book the entire villa (up to a maximum of 8 guests) for exclusive access to the entire property or book each of the 2 suites and 2 rooms separately.

Rooms Layout

Our spacious Barbet and Shikra Suites are located on the upper and mid levels of the villa respectively. Each suite is over 450 sq ft each, has a unique layout and can sleep up to 4 people.

Our smaller and more compact Starling and Sparrow rooms are located on the lower level of the villa. Each is about 200 sq ft and is suitable for two people maximum.

Meals

• As we are located in a remote, rural and off the road location, for the convenience of our guests, we normally offer a stay plus all meals option and therefore our tariff below is inclusive of all veg meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening snacks and tea) for the total number of guests per booking.
• Our meals are as per a fixed menu. A la carte ordering is not possible. You can read more about our food here.
• We do not offer room service. Meals are only served in the semi-al fresco common dining area. As this space is open on all sides, it can get cold during rains or on winter nights. Please wear warm clothing during such times.
• Lunch on the day of checkin is not included in the meal plan. It will not be possible for us to arrange for lunch on the day of checkin. Your meal plan will start with evening snacks/tea on the day of check in and end with breakfast on the day of check out.
• We also offer a self-catering option for a group wanting to book the entire villa and manage the meals and food supplies on their own with cooking and cleaning done by our staff as needed. The pricing for this option is mentioned separately below. To book this option, please contact us.

Meal Timings

• Breakfast: 9 am to 10 am
• Lunch: 1 pm to 2 pm
• Evening Snacks: 5:30 to 6 pm
• Dinner: 8:30 pm to 9.30 pm
• Please note that our kitchen closes at 10:00 pm as our staff need to go home, rest and prepare for the next day. Please do not ask for late meals service. We would hate to disappoint you.

Location

• The last 3 km of the route to our village is a scenic but stony and untarred rough forest track, which can seem scary and adventurous but is motorable and needs to be driven on with caution.
• From our village parking area, you will have to walk downhill (~450m) for about 5-10 mins to reach our place. Please note that this path is not accessible or wheelchair friendly so if you have mobility issues then our place may not be apt for you. Check out videos of the forest track and walking path here.
• Our staff will help to carry down your bags. We recommend our guests bring backpacks instead of suitcases if possible.

Facilities

• This is our dream home which we worked on for years to give it its present shape. While we have done our very best to equip the villa with the best fittings and furnishings to provide a luxury hotel like comfort we request you to be considerate and treat it like your home and not as a hotel. Given its remote location and close proximity to nature, there may be inconveniences that you may face but rest assured we will do our best to offer you a memorable experience.
• The master beds in all the rooms are antique and do not conform to standard modern bed sizes.
• The second sleeping area in both suites is a low height attic with 2 single floor level beds joined together.
• There is a self service tea/coffee station in the dining area featuring a curated selection of fine teas and a french press coffee.
• Shower gel, shampoo, handwash, fresh linen and towels are provided in all rooms.
• We do not have televisions in any of the rooms.
• Our rooms are made with a lot of wood and therefore all rooms and our dining area are strictly no-smoking. Guests wishing to smoke may only do so outside the rooms in the garden area.
• Hair dryer is available on request.
• Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. Only Jio 4G and BSNL 2G phone networks work at our place. As our WiFi can stop working anytime due to our remote location, please carry a Jio 4G dongle in case you require mission critical access to the internet.
• The kitchen is always off limits to guests with no exceptions.
• Check-in: 2 pm; Check-out: 11 am

Eco-friendly & Special Features

• As an eco-friendly homestay, located in close proximity to protected forests, we request you to carry back whatever plastic waste you bring with you.
• Like most mountain homes, we do not have air-conditioners in any of the rooms. Ceiling and portable fans are provided.
• We change bed linen and towels at the end of every 4th day of a guest’s stay.
• We use a solar powered inverter for power backup which provides basic light and internet backup for about 4 hours in case of a power cut. In case of longer power cuts, once the inverter runs out of battery, please bear with the power disruption until mains power comes back. Please note that rural India is prone to power cuts.
• We use a centralized solar water heater for providing running hot water in the bathrooms. In case there is no sun during your stay, hot water through a backup heating rod will be provided every morning (8-10 am). To help us save water, please consider taking bucket baths instead of using the shower.
• All rooms feature an eclectic selection of books from our personal collection.
• We have a range of board games like scrabble, carrom, chess, darts, poker, etc available.

Tariff-All Meals Option

Normal Season (July 1-Mar 31 excluding high season, long weekends and peak season dates)

The below pricing covers the stay and meals costs for the mentioned number of guests. There will be extra per head/per night charges for additional adults/children beyond these number of guests in the entire villa or in each of the suites which you can check while booking. Minimum number of guests needed to book the entire villa is 6. Max number is 8.

Note:

• The above pricing is for normal season only. Pricing for high season (Apr 1-Jun 30 and all long weekends) and peak season (24 Dec-1 Jan) will vary.
• Adult: 14 yrs and above; Child: 6-13 yrs
• Child <6 yrs: Free for up to 2 or 4 children in total when booking a suite or the entire villa respectively.
• Other inclusions in the above pricing are porterage from the village parking area to the house during checkin and back during checkout, and WiFi.
• Non-veg (chicken or mutton) option for meals, outdoor BBQ (veg or non-veg), and bonfire (between Nov-Feb only) can each be purchased as optional add-ons separately while booking.
• While we don’t have driver or staff accommodation, if you let us know in advance, we can suggest nearby places that can accommodate them, charges for which will be additional (paid directly to the local host).

Tariff-Self Catering Option

Normal Season (July 1-Mar 31 excluding high season, long weekends and peak season dates)

The pricing below covers only the cost for stay in our entire villa, access to our kitchen with basic provisions as mentioned below and services of our staff for cooking on your instructions and cleaning as needed for the booked number of guests. Self catering option is only available for booking the entire villa and not for individual rooms. Minimum number of guests needed to book the entire villa is 6. Max number is 8.
